Glenn Bedingfield is a Member of the Parliament and Government Whip. Before entering politics, he made a career in journalism by joining the Labour Party media team in 1992. In 2002, Bedingfield won the Journalist of the Year Award. He contested his first general election in 2017 and was elected from the Second Electoral District. Between 2008-2009, he also served as a Maltese MEP, replacing Joseph Muscat who was elected Leader of the Labour Party after the 2008’s electoral defeat. Between 2013-2017, he served at the Foreign Office and the Office of the Prime Minister. Currently, Glenn Bedingfield is the Chairman of the Kottonera Foundation, which is tasked with the implementation of a strategy for the regeneration of the Three Cities and Kalkara. He was appointed Government Whip in January 2020 by the new Prime Minister Robert Abela. He also serves on the Public Accounts Committee and the Public Appointments Committee.
